Other Business Details

Business Location:

Peaceful rural hamlet of only twelve houses located in the Lake District National Park. Beautiful views from the 3 acre gardens towards Skiddaw in the East and Grassmoor in the West.

Premise Details:

Our Cottages are converted from a 17thC stone barn and have lofted ceilings and exposed stone walls. They are exceptionally clean and warm and bed linen is 100% cotton with duvets. The cottage has a king-size and twin beds, Firewarm, 4 stove and all expected modern kitchen appliances as befits 4 Star accommodation, and the hayloft has a king-size bed and also has 4 star fittings. Ideally situated, this quiet hamlet forms part of the Allerdale Ramble near Bassenthwaite Lake, and the Coast to Coast (C2C) path is nearby. You can relax in the garden taking in beautiful views of Skiddaw and Grassmoor, or amble along to the next village of Blindcrake admiring the valley scenery with the River Derwent below. Keswick is 8 miles away.

Competition:

Huddlestone Cottage has recently been completely refurbished with 70% of the internal walls insulated for a high thermal performance to make for a much warmer cottage. Now equipped with a 4kw Firewarm4 stove, a programmable room thermostat and thermally lined curtains. This all means that you can still enjoy a cosy cottage without costing the Earth! Huddlestone Cottage has fully glazed entrance doors leading to a large open plan living, dining and kitchen area. A 4kw Firewarm4 stove gives a warm focal point. The pine floor is now covered by a carpet. There is a downstairs toilet and shower room. A pine staircase leads upstairs where there is a second full bathroom equipped with a corner bath. Two double bedrooms provide a king size bed and a twin bedded room to sleep four people and a baby. The Hayloft has its own private entrance door with stairway leading to a large open plan living room with kitchen on one side. The bedroom has a king size bed to sleep two people plus baby and there is room for a cot, if required. A separate bathroom provides a bath with a power shower over and a toilet. French doors look out directly to the gardens. All floors are polished pine with rugs and much of the original stone walls have been retained. The upstairs ceilings are lofted with exposed beams. The kitchens are fully equipped with microwave, refrigerator, electric cooker, hob and washer/dryer. There are colour televisions and radios provided in each lounge. All linen (but not facecloths), oil fired central heating and electricity are all included in the cost. Both cottages have Broadband 24/7 internet access cable (Cat 5 Network) and Wifi wireless access point for connection to your own computer equipment. We now provide Unlimited Free Wireless Wifi at 3.8Mbps speed.

Expansion Potential:

The whole building can be converted into a six bedroom farmhouse. Redmain house and the hayloft right next door can have a communicating door installed to make it a four bedroom house with Huddlestone Cottage used separately as a holiday cottage or Granny Annex. All three properties could be used as self catering holiday cottages to effectively double the annual turnover.
